NPP Expels 184 Members in Yendi

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expelled 184 of its members in the Yendi Constituency in the Northern Region.

This comes days after 280 members of the party in the Agona West Constituency including the Member of Parliament, Cynthia Morrison, were expelled from the party over their allegiance to the party.

In a statement issued by Yendi Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Baba Gazali, it explained that they were expelled after adverse findings against them by the Constituency Executive Committee and the Disciplinary Committee of the party.

They are said to have flouted the rules of the party including standing as an independent candidate against the officially elected parliamentary candidate of the party; Joining or declaring their support for another political party; Supporting an independent candidate in the just-ended December 7, 2024 election in Yendi constituency.

The list also included officials of the party who refused to work for the party in the just-ended presidential and parliamentary elections.

“These decisions were made unanimously at an expanded Constituency Executive Committee meeting held on 23 December 2024. The composition of the meeting were Constituency Executives, Council of Elders, Council of Patrons and the Disciplinary Committee Members of the Party.”
