NPP and NDC Undermining Ghana’s Progress- Alan
The founder of the Movement for Change, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has asserted that the main opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) are no choice Ghanaians must consider, arguing they are undermining the country’s progress.
According to him, the two parties are self-centred, with no progressive vision for the country.
This is in response to what he calls a propaganda piece that seeks to create a false narrative of collaboration between Alan Kyerematen and one of the political duopoly.
“The message of the Movement remains, that the existing political duopoly of the NPP and NDC in no way represents the interest of this country.
“The NPP and NDC in their current forms continue to undermine the progress of this country and are no longer representative of the ideals of progress and prosperity that define the Ghanaian people.”
The former member of the ruling party in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Duke Aaron Sasu Esq encouraged Ghanaians to give him the mandate in the upcoming general election.
According to him, it is in the interest of economic prosperity to vote him as President in the 2024 Elections.
“Alan Kyerematen and the Movement for Change remain focused as we work towards a Government of National Unity by engaging every single Ghanaian on a new path of transformation. Through the collective will of the Ghanaian people, we shall move beyond the NPP – NDC duopoly and create an opportunity for Ghana to rise again.”
Alan defected from the NPP in September 2023 and announced his decision to go solo in the 2024 Presidential election after his displeasure at the turn of events and results of the NPP’s Super Delegates Conference.
He has fashioned out what he calls the Great Transformation Plan (GTP) to create fortunes out of the economy and forestall future runs to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for support.
The GTP encompasses a Strong Macroeconomic Environment; New Agricultural Revolution (NAR); Industrial Transformation; Accelerated Infrastructure Development; Digital Mainstreaming; Energy Security and Diversification; Decarbonization and Climate Resilience; National Security and Defence Optimization; Downsizing Government; and Strategic Engagement with the International Community.
