Super-Clash: ‘No Department of Hearts of Oak Looks Dangerous’ to Kotoko – Patrick Aseidu

Patrick Asiedu, a versatile left-back for Asante Kotoko, has ignited conversation ahead of Sunday’s Super Clash by minimising the potential threats posed by Hearts of Oak.

Patrick Asiedu has not featured in the last four competitive games for Asante Kotoko due to an injury that has kept him on the sidelines; he did not play in games involving Bibiani Gold Stars, Baseke Holy Stars, Hearts of Lions and Aduana Stars.

Asiedu, while uncertain to participate in the Super Clash on Sunday, has intensified the intrigue surrounding one of the nation’s most eagerly awaited domestic matches, as the Phobians aim to avenge their defeat in the first round in Accra.

The left-back, now designated P17, expressed his views amidst growing enthusiasm and discourse among fans of both teams, as the forthcoming Super-Clash holds considerable importance in the title race and local prestige.

Asiedu refuted a claim made by Sometymer Otuo Acheampong of Oyerepa Television and Radio, suggesting that Hearts of Oak poses a threat in matches against Asante Kotoko, and enquired whether Patrick and his colleagues have recognised such a tactic.

“No department of Hearts of Oak looks dangerous; no department is threatening. But our team looks much more dangerous. Anytime we unleash our attack, we are much more dangerous when playing against us (Asante Kotoko),” Patrick Asiedu declared.

Patrick provided an update on the team’s camp attitude, despite challenges such as defeat against Heart of Lions, elimination from the MTN FA Cup, and the departure of their head coach prior to the upcoming match.

“We are happy at camp, because we have spoken to ourselves after the defeat to Aduana Stars and we continue to motivate ourselves.”

The left-back urged the supporters to attend the stadium in large numbers on Sunday to inspire the team to victory against Hearts of Oak.

“We plead with our supporters to put behind them that pain in our previous defeats; they should come to the stadium in their numbers on Sunday, which gives us vim and motivation to deliver our best on the field. We plead that even though they lost confidence, they are to bring the confidence back, and we will win the game on Sunday.”
