NIA Workers Suspend Strike

The National Identification Authority (NIA) Division of the Public Services Workers Union (PSWU) has suspended its industrial action.
It followed extensive engagements with the National Labour Commission (NLC), the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), the Ministry of Finance (MoF), and the leadership of the mother Union, the Divisional Executive Council of the PSWU.
“Accordingly, all NIA offices and registration centres across the country will resume full operations on Monday, 30th June 2025,” the NIA said in a statement on June 29.
The Authority further expressed its appreciation for the good faith demonstrated by the Union as it assured all staff that their legitimate concerns remain a priority and will continue to receive the urgent attention they deserve.
Meanwhile, it conveyed its apologies to the public for the inconvenience the strike action caused.
“The NIA remains committed to delivering quality, efficient and reliable identification services to all Ghanaians in the discharge of its mandate,” it stated.
