NHIA Disburses ₵243 Million To Healthcare Providers

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has released Gh₵243,225,701.55 to credentialed healthcare providers.

This covers claims up to June 2025.

In a statement, the Authority said public health facilities received GHS 120,048,031.54 (49%), while private sector facilities were paid GHS 78,747,543.25 (32%).

Mission-based facilities accounted for GHS 44,430,126.76, representing 18% of the total disbursement.

“This accelerated pace of claims settlement has been made possible by the enhanced cash flow from the uncapped National Health Insurance Levy (NHIL).”

It furthered that the move has strengthened mutual trust between the NHIA Management and administrators of credentialed facilities nationwide.

It added, “The NHIA remains committed to prompt claims payments as part of ongoing efforts to eliminate illegal charges by some service providers for services covered under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). The Authority urges all providers to submit accurate and timely claims to ensure smooth reimbursements.”
