NGO Supports Deprived Muslim Communities During Ramadan Season
A non-governmental organization, Life Relief and Development, has donated assorted food items to relieve the burden of some Muslim families in deprived communities in the Akuapem North Municipal in the Eastern Region, enabling them to take part in the 2024 Ramadan successfully.
According to the Regional Director of the organization, Mr. Umar Faruk Ibrahim, this is not the first of its kind.
He indicated that the organization’s aim is to step in when emergencies strike, providing essential aid when and where it is needed, to the needy and orphans, easing suffering and saving lives.
For him, the month of Ramadan is the perfect time for charitable NGOs to show love and care to the vulnerable in society.
“We have come to give you this food basket because we know some of you are not able to partake in fasting because you cannot afford to have Suhur. We are here to assist you with this 2024 Ramadan food basket which contains rice, oil, spaghetti, tea leaves, sugar, milk, salt, and anything that can help you enjoy a good and healthy meal at dawn,” he indicated.
This benevolence of Life Relief and Development was extended to a number of communities including Tenkong and Kokuomu in the Adawao area of the Akuapem North Municipal in the Eastern Region.
Also, in the Greater Accra Region, communities such as Sakoora, Redco, Aladjo, Pantang, UN, all within the Madina Municipal area, benefited from the donation of the 2024 Ramadan food basket.
Mr. Umar Faruk revealed that the organization is considering including other regions such as Oti, Volta, Savana, North East, and any community in any region that has deprived communities with poor and needy people.
