NDC Stages Nationwide Demonstration against EC
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is staging a nationwide demonstration against the Electoral Commission (EC) today, September 17, 2024, over the “unfit for purpose” Voters Register.
The protest dubbed “Enough is Enough” seeks to compel the Commission into succumbing to the demand for an independent forensic audit of the electoral roll.
The protest is taking place in all regional capitals of the country and according to the country’s largest opposition party, their demand for the audit is non-negotiable and essential for safeguarding the credibility of Ghana’s electoral process.
The Director of IT and Elections of the NDC, Dr Omane Boamah in a Facebook post urged protesters to be on the lookout and stay out of trouble.
“Look out for people who will cause trouble during the demonstration. Hand them over to the police.
Note that some may even dress in unapproved security uniforms to cause trouble. Evil-minded people can introduce troublemakers to disrupt our peaceful #EnoughIsEnough Demo.”
