NDC Pats Their MPs On Stance In Budget Passage
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has commended their “gallant” legislators for fighting the passage 2024 Budget Statement and Economic Policy till the end.
Though the numbers of the Majority Caucus forced through the budget on December 7, 2023, the opposition party believes their members in Parliament did the yeoman’s job with their contributions and resistance.
“The National Democratic Congress (NDC), wishes to commend its 137 Members of Parliament for their show of patriotism during the passage of the Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government for the year 2024.”
A statement issued by the National Communication Officer of the Party, Sammy Gyamfi read, “The NDC applauds all members of the Minority Caucus for not lending support to the imposition of these draconian taxes which will further exacerbate the excruciating hardship Ghanaians are already reeling under.”
With the new tax measures, the NDC predicts what it calls more hardships next year and believes will also see the New Patriotic Party out of office at the end of the year.
“We however wish to assure the Ghanaian public, that the NDC stands ready to rescue our nation from its current state of hopelessness come 2024, under the able leadership of the visionary and trustworthy Nation Builder, H.E John Dramani Mahama.”
