NDC Oda Constituency Spokesperson Suspended for Discouraging New Membership

The Communication Officer of the Oda branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Agbesi Benjamin, has been handed a suspension by the Regional Executive Committee.
In a letter, he was accused of discouraging new members from joining the party following its ‘attractiveness’ in recent times.
At its virtual meeting on January 21, 2026, REC deliberated on the matter, subsequently reaching the decision to suspend him from his position as a Constituency Communications Officer pursuant to Article 48 of the Party’s constitution.
The matter has further been referred to the Regional Disciplinary Committee for adjudication.
“You are therefore suspended from your position as the Constituency Communications Officer with immediate effect. You are directed to hand over any party property at your disposal to the Constituency Secretary.”
It added, “The Disciplinary Committee will invite you for a hearing, and it will be in your best interest to avail yourself for adjudication to enable the Committee submit a report with recommendations to REC for further action.”
