National Service Authority Phases Out Manual Payments

The National Service Authority (NSA) has phased out manual payments to its district and regional offices, as well as its headquarters.
The Authority announced in a statement on February 5, 2025, that the measure takes effect immediately.
According to the NSA, the manual payment method is no longer valid as it adopts a cashless payment system aligning with the government’s drive to modernize revenue collection.
“Effective immediately, all user agencies and stakeholders are directed to make all payments, including the 20% and 10% administrative service charges, through the GHANA.GOV platform.”
“Henceforth, all entities must cease manual payments to any NSA staff at the district, regional, and headquarters, as this method of payment is no longer valid,” it added.
It noted that the transition offers greater transparency, convenience and accessibility for persons working with the NSA.
Encouraging stakeholders to embrace the new system, it said, payments can be made at all times from across the country via www.ghana.gov.gh or by dialling *222# on all mobile networks.
Additionally, it said payment processes can be initiated from the personnel dashboard for 10% administrative charge, or via invoices sent to the email of the HR/Finance Representative of the User agencies for the 20%.
It said the GHANA.GOV platform provides a unified digital platform for accessing government services, offering a variety of seamless payment options, including:
Bank Cards: Debit and credit cards are accepted.
Mobile Money: Dial *222# for services.
Online Banking: Use internet banking or bank mobile apps.
QR Code: Scan to pay.
Direct Transfer: Account-to-account transfer.
SWIFT Transfers: For international payments.
ACH Transfers: Use ACH for payments.
