National Identification: NIA District And Municipal Offices Assumes Full Operations – Serebuo
Director of Elections for the Electoral Commission, Dr. Serebuo Quaicuo, has announced the full operations of the National Identification Authority in the Districts and Municipals across the nation.
According to him, the massive inconveniences at the regional offices in providing the Ghana Card for Ghanaians have necessitated the need for the expansion of the Authority’s operations at the district and municipal levels.
These offices have assumed permanent full operations in making the Ghana Card available and accessible to qualified Ghanaians from yesterday, Monday 8th August 2022.
Speaking to the media, Dr. Serebuo indicated that the Districts and municipal Offices are in charge of providing the Ghana Card for new applicants, damaged card bearers, and replacements for lost ones.
However, the Regional Offices are open to new applicants as well and those applying to rectify challenges with their details like a misspelling of names and other details.
He added that those applying for replacement must acquire the Police Extract and pay GHC 30 to the NIA through Cal Bank, as such, no money should be paid at the Office. He also emphasized that it is only the Headquarters that offers the premium service at the cost of GHC 250.
