Nana Konadu Yiadom III Dɔte Yie: Blocked Zones Are No-Goes For Motorbikes and Tricycles

From September 15, when the Manhyia Palace will commence the burial rites of Nana Konadu Yiadom III, Asantehemaa, no motorbike or tricycle will have access within the restricted areas of Manhyia.

This directive is, however, limited to unaccredited ones.

“All motorcycles, mopeds and tricycles will not be permitted into the blocked areas of the Manhyia Palace, unless the ones accredited.”

This will remain in place until after September 18, when the rites will be concluded.

The carefully planned rites will witness a series of activities from September 15 to September 18, when the rites will come to an end.

Her Majesty will be buried on the last day.

Filing past is reserved to take place sequentially among dignitaries and the general public from September 15 to 18, between 5 am and 5 pm, except for the last day, when it will end at 11 am to make way for a burial service at 3 pm.

These days will also see the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, sit in state as the chief mourner.

A key point to note is the institution of the restriction on outdoor movement effective 7 pm on September 18 to make way for the burial of Her Majesty.
