NACOC Arrests 2 British for Carrying $6m Worth of Cocaine at KIA
Two British nationals have been arrested after they were caught with slabs of suspected cocaine in their luggage at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
They were arrested on Monday, June 10 2024 in a joint operation by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) and UK National Crime Agency.
The suspects identified as Hall Shamin Ethline, and Graham Omar Adel had 72 slabs of the said substance said to be worth a street value of $6,480,000 in their six luggage bound for Gatwick.
“On Monday, June 10, 2024, an intelligence-led operation by Officers of the Narcotics Control Commission and the UK National Crime Agency, led to the interception of a total of 166.88kg of substances suspected to be cocaine from the luggage of two British National passengers who were travelling together.”
“The luggage of Hall Shamin Ethline contained a total of 83.44KG of suspected cocaine, along with her personal items. The luggage of Graham Omar Adel contained a total of 83.44KG of suspected cocaine, along with his personal items.”
The two are currently assisting investigations, the Commission noted.
According to the Commission, the arrest of the two is a testament to their impartiality in the discharge of their duty as well as their commitment to the safety of travellers and preparedness to combat flight terminal threats relating to the possession of drugs.
