Muntaka Retracts Corruption Allegation Against Supreme Court Judge
Member of Parliament for Asawase, Honourable Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka has issued a retraction, apologising for claims of corruption he leveled against a Supreme court judge.
The NDC MP alleged a supreme court judge tried to lobby a female colleague parliamentarian to vote for the New Patriotic Party’s candidate during the election of a Speaker and emphatically said he would provide an evidence in support of the allegations if need be.
In a retraction, he holds that, “the disclosure was based on a report from a trusted colleague”
However, he said, “because I did not specifically name any judge, this may have had the effect of scandalizing the judiciary in its entirety, this unintended consequences is deeply regretted
“I therefore wish to respectfully retract same and apologize for the harm done to the image and reputation of my Lord the Justices of the Supreme court and the judiciary as a whole”
