Mpox Cases Near 1000

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has announced 13 new confirmed cases of Mpox as of January 25, 2026.
The new infections bring the total confirmed cases to 993.
It further reported that the death toll stands at seven with no admissions.
Mpox spreads mainly through close contact with someone who has the infection.

The GHS continues to encourage people to protect themselves by avoiding close contact with infected persons, washing their hands often with soap and water, and refraining from regular touching of the eyes, nose, and mouth.
It has also encouraged the members of the public to report to the nearest health facility when experiencing symptoms like fever, rash, headache, muscle aches, or swollen lymph nodes.
