Moshie Zongo: Two Dead In Fire Outbreak
Fire has gutted three rooms at Moshie Zongo in the Ashanti Region.
The fire started around 7am on Tuesday, 27th July, 2021.
Two children, a girl and a boy reported to be 9 and 18 months olds respectively were killed in the fire.
Parents of the two said the children were left in the room because they were still sleeping in the morning while they were outside the house undertaking some chores.
According to the mother she was told that their room was set ablaze but could not enter because of the intensity of the fire.
They attributed the cause of the fire to improper electrical wiring which was done recently by the Electricity Company Limited.
Eyewitnesses said the fire service were called, however, they were informed that there was no water to quench the fire.
In an interview with Adwoa Serwaa Yonkodo, it was revealed that some youth burst a water pipeline to douse the fire.
It is also reported that some fire fighters stormed the scene after the fire had already caused the casualties and had been doused.
The angry residents therefore turned the fire service team away.
