Minister For Health Misses Appointment With House Of Chiefs
The Minister for Health, Hon Kwaku Agyeman-Manu on Wednesday missed an appointment with the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs.
At the first General meeting of the House Chaired by the President, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, which took place on November 15, 2023, the Minister was expected to make an appearance before the House.
He had been summoned to respond to pressing concerns about the Region’s health needs and deficits but failed to appear with a reason which was communicated to the House by the Regional Minister, Hon Simon Osei Mensah.
“Otumfuo, my brother the Health Minister was supposed to be here after your invitation, however, he called me last night to inform me all Ministers had been directed to be present in Parliament for the Presentation of the Budget Statement and Economic Policy.”
He has now vowed to make himself available on any other day he will be summoned by the House, according to Hon Osei Mensah.
It will be recalled that Otumfuo announced that Ministers would be summoned before the House to account for developmental deficits in the various sectors of the Ashanti Region last year during the last meeting of the House in December.
The Regional Minister yesterday made his third appearance before the House to render accounts and updates on various projects, answering various questions relating to roads, health facilities and illegal mining activities.
