2025 President’s Cup Scheduled For July

This year’s President’s Cup will be hosted at the Accra Sports Stadium on July 6 between Asante Kotoko SC and Hearts of Oak.
The annual event organized by the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) honours sitting heads of state. This year, it will be held in honour of President John Dramani Mahama.
A six-member sponsorship committee was unveiled on Wednesday by the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, for the event.
Among the key strategies discussed were launching media-driven ticket promotions, activating social media campaigns, providing transportation for fans and students, and collaborating with the Ghana Tourism Authority to create an engaging and memorable fan experience.
He further urged the committee to approach their task as part of a broader initiative to rejuvenate the passion for club football across the country.
According to him, the President’s Cup should serve as a platform to ignite fan enthusiasm, encourage community involvement, and fill stadiums not just for this match but to nurture a lasting football culture in Ghana.
The official press launch of the competition is scheduled for Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the Media Centre of the Accra Sports Stadium, where full details of the event will be unveiled.
