Mercy Asiedu Courts Support For Mahama
Kumawood actress Mercy Asiedu has publicly declared her support for the 2024 flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, calling on her colleagues to also throw their weight behind the former President.
She posits that members of the Creative Arts industry in the country lived comfortable lives under his leadership which ended on January 7, 2021, unlike under the current government.
Her statement was delivered during an engagement between Mr Mahama and the key persons in the Creative Arts Industry.
“We were better off during his tenure. Some of our colleagues were able to buy cars at the time… {Now} There are artists who can’t even afford daily meals.”
She believes the leader has something better to offer Ghanaians and has the propensity to position the industry on a glorious dais.
“I plead with you all. He has something good for us. Let us come together and vote for him so we get our fair share of the spoil because we are also Ghanaians.”
Former President John Dramani Mahama is seeking a comeback after losing the 2016 and 2020 Presidential elections to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
