Premier League Players Have Become Rusty Due to Break- Bechem United Prez

The President of Bechem United, Kingsley Owusu Achiaw, has observed that Ghana Premier League players are suffering from rustiness, having the league on a hiatus.
He raised concerns after many of the top-tier clubs were defeated in the MTN FA Cup Round of 16.
In an interview, he raised concerns about the training habits of teams during the break.
“Because the league was on break, most of the players were not taking training seriously because they knew they wouldn’t play any league matches. As a result, they became rusty and struggled against lower-division teams who were still actively playing in their league.
“We also suffered the same fate due to rustiness, but we are confident we can still fight for a good position in the league, even after being docked three points this season,” he told Graphic Sports.
Top-tier clubs like Hearts of Oak, Gold Stars and Medeama were kicked out of the competition.
The GPL has been put on hold for over a month. This followed the killing of an Asante Kotoko SC fan at a match venue on February 2, 2025, during an away game against Nsoatreman FC.
