Medeama Host Hearts while Samartex Visit Lions Today
Two interesting fixtures will open Ghana Premier League (GPL) match day nine today, November 1, 2024, as struggling clubs and well positioned ones will face off in the Western Region and the Greater Accra Region.
The T&A Stadium in Tarkwa will this evening host the Accra Hearts of Oak while the University of Ghana Sports Stadium will host FC Samartex 1996.
Placed third on the league log, the Tarkwa-based club will be seeking to extend the number of their unbeaten home stint against the Phobias whereas Coach Aboubakari Ouattara’s side hopes to make a good impression on their fans after going winless in their last two games.
In their last four games against Hearts at home, the Yellow and Mauves have three wins and one loss.
Meanwhile, they have won four of their eight played games in the ongoing season and hold 15 points in third place. Hearts on the other hand have just two wins from their eight games played and sit in the 12th place with nine points.
The other match day nine game to take place on Friday will be between the defending champions and relegation-threatened Accra Lions.
Samartex are running fifth on the league table with 13 points while the Accra-based club are 16th with seven points.
The Samreboi lads have three wins, three draws and a loss from their previous games while Accra Lions have one win, three losses and four draws.
Coach Ibrahim Tanko’s side have drawn their last three games and recorded a winless streak in their last five games.
The two games will take place at 6 pm.
