Mbappe to be Fitted With Mask after Breaking His Nose

French football sensation, Kylian Mbappe will continue at the Euros despite breaking his nose during their Group D opening game against Austria at Düsseldorf in Germany on Monday.

The injury of the 25-year-old marred the day of Didier Deschamps’ side despite their narrow 1-0 victory.

Mbappe ended the game with a bloodied nose after an aerial duel between himself and Austria’s Kevin Danso went wrong.

The French Football Federation (FFF) in a statement confirmed the Real Madrid player had broken his nose but noted that he will not undergo surgery now.

“Kylian Mbappé suffered a broken nose during the second part of the Austria-France held this Monday in Düsseldorf. The captain of France was treated first by the medical staff and Dr. Franck Le Gall, who diagnosed him with a nose fracture.”

It confirmed, “Mbappé will receive treatment in the next few days, but he will not undergo surgery.”

It noted that he would be fitted with a mask to continue the rest of the competition.

“A mask will be made for him so that the number 10 of the French national team can prepare for his return to competition after a period dedicated to treatment.”

France will play their second European Championship group game on Friday, June 21, 2024, against Netherlands.
