Manso Nkwanta: Nana Bi Kusi Appiah Urges Public Support For New Queen
The Paramount Chief of Manso Nkwanta Traditional Area, Nana Bi Kusi Appiah, has called on the royal family, Queensmothers and the entire people of the area to rally behind their new Queen.
As a young Queen, the Chief believes she would require the unflinching support and guidance from her family, the traditional council and the people of Manso Nkwanta to effectively function and to equally fit into the shoes of her predecessor and help develop the area.
The Paramount Chief, Nana Bi Kusi Appiah was speaking at the installation of Nana Akua Sika as the new Paramount Queen for the Manso Nkwanta Traditional Area on Monday 9th January 2022 at the Chief’s Palace, Manso Nkwanta.
Justifying the choice, he believes Nana Akua Sika as a member of the royal family equally qualifies to replace the former Queen and urged all aggrieved members to allow sleeping dogs to lie and eschew all forms of bitterness and join hands with new Queen for peace to reign on the Manso Nkwanta land.
Nana Akua Aboraa Sika replaces the former Paramount Queen, Nana Nyarko II, who passed away over a year ago after more than four decades on the stool.
The beautiful occasion which was full of customs and traditions was attended by the Otumfuo Mamesenhene, Barima Osei Kwadwo, the Paramount Chief and Queen of Kumawu Traditional Area; Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua and Nana Serwaa Amponsah respectively.
It was also graced by two other Paramount Queens namely; Nana Yaa Asantewaa (Ejisu) and Nana Serwaa Nyarko (Offinso), members of the Manso Nkwanta Traditional Council, the royal family and residents of Manso Nkwanta to witness the installation.
In their words of advice, the three Paramount Queens who graced the ceremony advised the new Queen, Nana Akua Aboraa Sika to be submissive, humble and respectful to her Chief, the elders and her people. They urged her to serve diligently and with integrity and also learn the traditions or the area if she wants to make a good mark as a Queen.
They further called on her family and members of the Traditional Council to give her all the needed support and equally respect her as their Queen and unite for peace and development.
Nana Akua Sika in a brief remark expressed appreciation to Nana Bi Kusi Appiah for the selection and support. She also thanked her family, members of the Manso Nkwanta Traditional Council and the people in the area and counted on their support as she takes over the mantle of her predecessor, Nana Nyarko II.
