Mahama is Afraid to Debate Me – Bawumia
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has accused his counterpart from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, of being afraid to debate him on the economy and governance.
Speaking during his campaign rally at Nalerigu on Wednesday, July 11, Dr. Bawumia said, “I am looking forward to a debate with John Dramani Mahama, but I am afraid he is running away from a debate, and his people say he doesn’t want to debate.”
The NPP flagbearer believes Mahama’s refusal to debate stems from his inability to defend the NDC’s “empty” policies, which he claims are devoid of substance.
“He says he has a 24-hour economy policy that he cannot explain. It is as empty as an empty barrel. None of his people can explain it, and they say they will be exporting lions and elephants,” Dr. Bawumia mocked.
Undeterred by Mahama’s refusal to debate, Dr. Bawumia vowed to continue exposing the NDC’s policies as empty and lacking merit. “If he chooses not to debate, I will continue to sell my policies to the people of Ghana, and you will take the decision,” he said.
Dr. Bawumia’s challenge has sparked a flurry of reactions.
