Licence Application Opens for Cannabis Cultivation, Management

The Narcotic Control Commission (NACOC) has announced the opening of applications for the cultivation and management of cannabis following the launch of the national licensing regime.

In a statement, it said the milestone marks the implementation of section 43 of the Narcotics Control Commission Act, 2020 (Act 1019), as amended and L.I. 2475.

This, it stated, signifies a strategic shift toward harnessing the economic and health potential of cannabis while maintaining the highest regulatory standards.

Industrial & Medicinal Focus
NACOC, in a statement, reminded the public that the licences are exclusive for cannabis with a THC content of not more than 0.3% on a dry weight basis.

It reaffirmed that the program is dedicated to the production of high-quality fibre and seeds as well as the development of pharmaceutical and health-related products.

Categories of Licences
The Commission offers a comprehensive regulatory framework across 11 distinct licence categories, including Cultivation, Processing, Breeding, Research and Development and Laboratory and Testing.

The rest are Storage, Transportation, Import, Export, Sales and Distribution and Advertising and Promotion.

2. Submit Your Application: Complete the online forms and upload the required documentation.
