Five people have filed nomination forms to contest the NPP parliamentary primaries in the Kwabre East Constituency.

The incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Francisca Oteng Mensah, has bowed out of the NPP primaries.

The five members are Hon. Opoku Agyeman Bonsu, current Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kwabre East Municipality; Hon. George Oppong, current Presiding Member of the Assembly; Mr. Onyina Akwasi Gyamfi Acheampong, current Organizer of the Party in Kwabre East Constituency; Mr. Patrick Amoako Kuffour; and Mr. Daniel Agyenim Boateng.

Speaking with Opemsuo.com after submitting his forms on Monday, December 25, 2023, Hon. Opoku Agyeman Bonsu expressed optimism that he would emerge as a winner on January 27, 2024, having served the party in various ways and being a grassroots man for more than three decades.

“I have learned in the party; the top officers of the party know me very well, and with my experience, I can help my constituency,” he stressed.

In the same development, Mr. Onyina Acheampong said he had trickled down within the minds of the delegates in the Constituency of which he can serve and serve better in terms of developmental projects when given the nod as Parliamentary Candidate and subsequently become Member of Parliament for the good people of Kwabre East Constituency.

“I have seen Kwabre East Constituency problems, and when given the nod, I can serve and serve better,” he stated.

On his part, Mr. Patrick Amoako Kuffour indicated that he can make the differences the good people of Kwabre East Constituency are looking for, as he has been instrumentally focused on jobs for the youth in the constituency.

He emphasized that he is development-oriented to serve Kwabre East Constituency and be a real representative for the first time ever.

“I have served Kwabre East Constituents as a non-MP; I am coming to change the face of the constituency,” Mr. Kuffour said.
