Kumawood Actors to Perform In SHSs- Regional Minister
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has announced plans to have Kumawood actors perform in Senior High Schools (SHS) during entertainment.
He announced this during the Ashanti Fest at the Kumasi Cultural Centre on April 15, 2025, during a segment with second-cycle institutions in the region.
“We are planning ways we can get Kumawood stars to perform you in your various schools. This will enable you to get in contact with various stars like Nana Ama McBrown, Kwaku Manu, Dr Likee, Lil Win and many others to come and support your entertainment programmes.”
The import is to drive patriotism toward local content in the upcoming youth.
“The whole concept is to imbibe the love of local content in you as our future,” he justified.
Meanwhile, he said plans are underway to integrate the various sectors in the regions to promote trade.
For instance, he spoke of a possible collaboration between the fashion industry and Kumawood.
“The fashion industry will supply Kumawood with costumes while the movie industry also leverages its platform to promote the craft of its costume sponsors.”
