Kumasi Airport Project To Be Completed In October 2022
Phase two of the Kumasi Airport Project is expected to be completed in October 2022.
The Managing Director for Ghana Airports Company, Mr. Yaw Kwakwa disclosed that phase 3 of the project has been added to that of the phase two, and is hopeful to be completed next year.
He explained that the phase two project is in two folds: Landside and Airside consisting of areas like the terminal building, car park, service utility, delivery area, taxiway, runway strip etc.
Mr. Kwakwa explained further phase three revealing its constituents: Terminal Building, VVIP and VIP Business Lounge, Passenger Boarding Bridge, New Air Traffic Tower Control and a Fire Fighting Building, VVIP Access Road, Emergency Road to Runway as well as a traditional and continental arrival hall.
It was disclosed that, the space when completed will be able to contain the biggest airplane.
The Managing Director gave the information when Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutut II embarked on a tour at the Airport where he was taken through construction progress.
Otumfuo urged the workers to put in their all in the construction of the airport and focus on learning new inventions rather than income.
He said he was grateful for the field work adding that hard work is important in everything hence they should work for the development of the region and country.
Asantehene was accompanied by some chiefs and regional government officials.
