Kudus Mohammed Set for Surgery After Hamstring Relapse, World Cup in Doubt

Ghana Black Stars star Mohammed Kudus is set to undergo surgery following a fresh hamstring injury, casting serious doubt over his chances of featuring at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 25-year-old Tottenham Hotspur attacker has been sidelined since January with a combination of quad and hamstring issues. He had been showing positive signs of recovery and had resumed individual training earlier this week.
However, medical scans carried out on Wednesday confirmed a setback, with reports indicating that the injury may now require surgical intervention to fully resolve.
Kudus is not expected to play again for the remainder of the 2025/26 Premier League season for Tottenham.
The development comes as a major blow to both the player and the Black Stars, who are counting on their key attacking talent for the World Cup campaign in Group L against Panama, England and Croatia.
Ghana fans and the technical team will now be anxiously monitoring updates on Kudus’ recovery as the tournament draws closer in June.
