Kudus Impresses In Hammers 3-1 Win Over Backa Topola

There is no doubt Ghana international Mohammed Kudus made a mark on West Ham fans and Manager David Moyes following his goal{s} contribution to the Hammers 3-1 win against Backa Topola in the UEFA Europa League group stage.

Topola took the lead in the 47th minute but the scoreline was levelled after good work on the left from Said Benrahma led Nemanja Petrovic to divert the cross into his own net, under pressure from Kudus.

The scoreline was extended four minutes later by Kudus through a header from a James Ward-Prowse corner. The winner was provided by substitute Tomas Soucek to make it 3-1.

In an interview after the game, Coach Moyes said he was pleased with Kudus’ performance.

“I thought Mo started the game really well and the team was playing well in the opening 20 minutes. He faded away, but in the end, he came up with one and maybe two goals, I’m being told, so I’m really, really pleased for him.”

“He’s made a good start, we like him a lot and we’ll edge him in when we get the opportunities in the right moments to do so. I’m pleased because we needed someone to come up with goals tonight and he was the one who did it.”
