Kotoko Woes Extend Following 4 Winless Games
Asante Kotoko Sporting Club will be seeking their first win in five games when they lock horns with FC Samartex 1996 this Saturday after suffering two consecutive defeats against Nsoatreman FC on Wednesday and Dreams FC on Sunday.
The porcupines have won just two of their nine games this season.
On Sunday, they continued their second consecutive winless streak when they fell by a goal to nil at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The visitors had the winner inside 38 minutes through Abdul Aziz Issah with a free kick. It was their first win after two consecutive defeats.
Dreams are now 11th on the league table while Kotoko are 14th.
Elsewhere, Medeama SC battered Legon Cities by 2-0 at the El-Wak stadium following the defending Champion’s 3-1 loss to Accra Hearts of Oak mid-week. The two goals were registered in the name of Mamudu Kamaradin and Kofi Asmah.
Also, Kelvin Obeng and Isaac Mintah found the back of the net to put Aduana FC in the lead in the first half against Heart of Lions before a consolation in the second half.
At the Golden City Park in Brekum, Samartex were defeated with a first-half goal by Brekum Chelsea.
Real Tamale United recorded a goalless draw at home against Bechem United while Accra Lions shared the spoil with their hosts Bibiani Gold Stars at DUN’s Park.
Meanwhile, a goal by Dauda Saaka gave Bofoakwa Tano their first win in six matches.
