Kotoko Move To 4th Place After Sharing Points With Karela
The Porcupine Warriors are now fourth on the league table after drawing with their visitors in their Match Day 32 fixture.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko after taking the lead at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Monday afternoon could not maintain it to the end.
The defending champions started with Frederick Asare, Augustine Agyapong, John Tedeku, Mohammed Alhassan, Yusif Mubarik, Rocky Dwamena, Eric Zeze, Richmond Lamptey, Georges Mfegue, Steven Mukwala and Sarfo-Taylor.
They got onto the score sheet after 29 minutes and denied Karela United any opportunity to equalise in the rest of the first half.
The home team’s denial was broken in the 75th minute by Fatawu Mohammed who netted the ball from a cross from Emmanuel Owusu Boakye.
The point earned put Kotoko in the 4th spot with 48 points. They are 8 points away from leaders Medeama Sporting Club.
This marked the third consecutive win drought at home by the team.
With two matches left to end the season, it is impossible that Porcupine Warriors will be able to defend the title.
The race for the title is now up between Medeama, Aduana Stars and Bechem United.
