Kotoko, Hearts, 3 Others Get More Than Half A Million Dollars From FIFA

Five football clubs in Ghana are set to receive more than half a million dollars as part of the FIFA Club Benefits Programme (CBP).

Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, Dreams FC, King Faisal and Steadfast FC will be receiving US$219,008, US$200,757, US$18, 250, US$18,250 and US$109,504 respectively, reports Graphic.

In total, the Ghanaian Clubs have a share of US$ 565,769 in the US$4,569,981 set aside for 18 CAF clubs.

Kotoko and Hearts qualify for the spoil due to their respective contribution of Danlad Ibrahim and Afriyie Barnieh in the 2022 World Cup tournament.

Similarly, King Faisal, Dreams and Steadfast contributed players during the World Cup qualifiers.

A total of US$209 million is being distributed by FIFA to 440 clubs across 51 member associations for releasing 837 footballers to participate in the 2022 competition in Qatar.

FIFA’s distribution is based on an average daily amount of USD 10,950 per player, regardless of the minutes played during the tournament.

As per the standard procedure, FIFA will distribute these funds to the respective member associations associated with the clubs involved.
