Kotoko Fortify Defence With Another Signing
Asante Kotoko SC have signed a new left-back in the quest to present a formidable defence mechanism in their games.
They announced the signing of Kwasi Asante on a one-and-a-half-year contract following the successful completion of his medical on January 22, 2025.
According to Kotoko, the former Simba FC player brings on board guile and versatility.
“Known for his adaptability, he can operate not only as a left-back but also as a centre-back or even as a left winger, offering valuable options to the technical team.”
Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum is even more excited that Kwasi will be of much use with his ability to play multiple positions.
He continued, “Everyone knows we’ve been playing with just one recognizable left-back in Patrick Asiedu since October last year, and it was essential to strengthen that area. Kwasi brings both quality and versatility to our squad”
The player told the club media he is on a mission to help Kotoko achieve its goals.
“I know the fans have high expectations, and I’m ready to give everything I’ve got to meet them. Competition for places is part of football, and I welcome it because it makes us all better. I’m here to work hard, contribute to the team, and help Kotoko achieve its goals this season.”
The 29-year-old previously played for Hafia Club of Guinea, Simba FC in Tanzania, and Mbabane Swallows in Eswatini.
