Kotoko Board Members Banned From Media Engagement

Asante Kotoko SC supporters will not hear their Board of Directors on various radio stations granting interviews following the decision not to engage the media but strictly focus on their duties as policymakers.

The 12-member Board of Directors of the Club of the Century were extremely busy granting interviews in the past month with various radio networks after their inauguration.

But they have decided to avoid that going forward to help them focus on what they are expected to do. The decision, according to Mr. Kwadwo Boateng Genfi, who spoke to Opemsuo 104.7 FM disclosed it came after careful and systematic studying of how the Media operate in the arena of football.

On May 28, 2020, His Majesty and Life Patron of the ‘Reds’, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, constituted a new 9-member Board of Directors for Asante Kotoko SC to provide corporate dynamism and integrity, financial prudence and professional expertise that will rapidly transform Asante Kotoko to be able to compete equally with other big guns in Africa.

They were also tasked to rebuild the Asante Kotoko brand both for its performance on the sporting field and as a viable and self-sustaining economic entity able ultimately to reclaim its pre-eminent position among the elite Clubs of Africa.

Otumfuo Asantehene, on June 29, 2020, added three additional members to the Board of Directors raising the number to twelve after they pledged to commit all the resources necessary to uplift the club to a new International level within the shortest possible time.

In an exclusive interview on the official Mouthpiece of Asanteman, Opemsuo 104.7 FM evening Sports, Pramaso, the altruistic and ambitious policymaker, Kwadwo Boateng Genfi, stressed that, “We have resolved to pull out from talking to the Media to restrict ourselves to the actual work that was given to us by Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. The work will ultimately do the talking for us.”

He again promised the teaming supporters to rally behind them unflinchingly as they are revved up to work for the betterment of the club.

“We are going to build something substantial for the supporters, and we will definitely do it.”

The Board of Directors yesterday visited the Club’s training grounds and Anane Boateng Sports Stadium for assessment.
