KK Fosu Apologises for Outburst over inability to attend Blogger’s Funeral

Highlife musician KK Fosu has rendered an unqualified apology after he lost his cool and jabbed the public for backlashing him over his failure to show up for the funeral of John Claude Tamakloe, a blogger who met his untimely death in an accident while travelling with him last month.

Reports indicate that KK Fosu and Singer K Bless who was also a victim of the accident had all failed to reach out to the family of the deceased after the incident.

The funeral of the blogger was held on July 20 with their accentuating absence causing a stir on social media.

In an interview justifying his absence the musician burst out in anger saying he had no personal relations with Claude and met him for the first time on the same day they had the accident.

However, in a subsequent press statement, he rendered an unqualified apology as he justified, “Unfortunately, my emotions got the better of me, leading to an outburst that I deeply regret. This outburst was fuelled by my feeling that people were not truly concerned about my state of health.

“I understand that my reaction was inappropriate, and I am sincerely sorry for any hurt or distress it caused.”

Absence
According to KK Fosu, he had earlier an plan of attending the one-week observation of the deceased but rescinded the decision after getting a wind about the fury of the family against him.

“We learned that the family was unhappy with me because they believed their son was travelling with me at the time of the accident. Although we were in the same car that was the first time I saw him or talked to him.”

On his failure to attend the funeral on Saturday, he explained it was based on a doctor’s advice as he continues to heal from the injuries he sustained during the accident.

He is, however, committed to reaching out to the family of the blogger, he added as he commiserated with them and urged the police to fast-track their investigations into the accident.

“I am committed to reaching out personally to the family of the deceased to offer my condolences and support. I also urge the Ghana Police to expedite investigations into the unfortunate accident so all parties will be amicably appeased.”
