Kassim Mingle Ocansey Applauds Black Galaxies Despite 1-0 Loss to South Africa

Black Galaxies head coach Kassim Mingle Ocansey has commended his players following their 1-0 defeat to South Africa in an international friendly.

He expressed confidence in the team’s potential, emphasizing the value of the experience gained against a strong opponent.

“Because the league is ongoing, we didn’t have much time to prepare, but the work was intensive. This game was an eye-opener, and I believe we are building a strong CHAN team. The players performed very well against a tough opponent, and we have a bright future ahead,” Ocansey said.

The Ghanaians side suffered a narrow defeat to Bafana Bafana in an international friendly played at the Dobsonville Stadium.

A 57th-minute strike from Mbula proved decisive as South Africa wrapped up their final preparations for the upcoming AFCON, despite a spirited and disciplined performance from the Black Galaxies.

Rudolf Junior Nana Mensah was introduced in the second half and came close to equalising, but his effort was brilliantly denied by the South African goalkeeper before the ball came off the line after hitting the inside of the goalpost.

The Black Galaxies will now shift their focus to the 2026 CHAN qualifiers.
