Karim Zito Confirmed as Substantive Kotoko Head Coach

Football tactician Karim Zito has been made the substantive head coach of Asante Kotoko SC.

His appointment was confirmed on Sunday after serving as the interim head coach for three months.

“We are pleased to confirm the appointment of Abdul Karim Zito Kabutey as our new head coach for the next two years. #AKSC #Fabucensus #Kotoko4All,” the club announced.

He was initially appointed as the new Technical Director; however, the departure of Coach Dr Prosper Ogum left a vacant spot that required him to fill.

Under his watch, Kotoko won the 2024/2025 MTN FA Cup and the President’s Cup.

Zito is a former player of Asante Kotoko.

He holds a vast experience from both club and national levels, including guiding Dreams FC to a historic CAF Confederation Cup semi-final and leading Ghana’s U-20 team to the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations title.
