Journalist: Akufo-Addo’s Regime Is “Worst” For Journalists
Ghanaian Freelance journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni has juxtaposed the administration of former President John Agyekum Kuffour to that of President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo and described the latter’s as the “worst”.
This comes after Ghana dropped in rankings of the Reporters Without Borders (RSF)’s Press Freedom index for the year 2022.
The report showed that Ghana dropped from the thirtieth (30) global place it clocked in 2021 to sixtieth (60).
In a tweet, the investigative journalist said his career in the media space dates back to the era of President J.A. Kufour.
He thereby judged the current government’s atmosphere for media personnel in the country as the “worst”.
“I have been doing journalism since Kufuor. And, in my view, Akufo-Addo’s era is the worst for journalists in Ghana”, he tweeted.
