‘I’m proud to be here’ – Bernard Somuah expresses delight after sealing permanent Celta Vigo move

Ghanaian forward Bernard Somuah has officially completed a permanent switch to Spanish La Liga outfit Celta Vigo, marking a major milestone in his rising career after a successful loan spell.

The youngster, who arrived from Asante Kotoko in 2024, impressed both with the club’s reserve side, Celta Fortuna, and in training, convincing the Sky Blues to secure his services for the long-term.

Initially brought in on a season-long loan, his deal was extended following a bright start in Spain. His steady progress, versatility, and attacking flair pushed the club to offer him a four-year contract—an important step in his development as he edges closer to first-team football.

After the announcement, the 20-year-old took to his official Facebook page to share his excitement, writing: “New chapter and proud to be part of this amazing family. Let’s gooo Celta.”

Somuah has been one of the standout performers at Celta Fortuna this season, netting five goals and delivering influential displays throughout their campaign.

One of his most recent highlights came in their thrilling 4–2 win over Real Avilés in the Primera Federación’s Group 1, where he continued to showcase his growing confidence.

With the permanent deal now sealed, Somuah will aim to maintain his impressive momentum as he looks to challenge for a place in the senior squad and make his mark at the highest level of Spanish football.
