I’m Not Hiding Black Stars’ Budget- Sports Minister

The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has justified the delay in the publication of the budget of the Black Stars covering their expenditure for the recent round of the World Cup qualifiers.
Following President John Dramani Mahama’s directive to disclose the budgets of all national teams, his ministry remains non-compliant, sparking widespread public demand for transparency.
Reacting to the development in an interview, he noted that the budget will be made available to the public at the right time, adding that “It will be unfair to make a draft budget public.”
“I am not hiding the budget for Black Stars, you will know it when the time is right, we have next assignments coming up,” he told Channel One TV.
“I’m saying that I will make it public. Has the National Team ceased playing? We have the next assignment in September; we have matches that we’re going to play. And we will surely make it public.”
He cited efforts to maintain cordial relations with the various federations and national teams as one of the motivations for the delay.
“There are a number of federations that, as a minister responsible for sports, you will work with and work through. Being an antagonist should be the last thing you must adopt as a leader.”
“I see problems, but I don’t see human beings as problems. If you continue to become an obstacle to solving the problem, then you are the problem.”
