IGP Announces Promotion For Junior Officers
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Yohonu, has announced the promotion of 12 junior officers in the police service.
The beneficiaries include chief inspectors, inspectors, sergeants, a corporal, and constables.
At a presser on September 24, 2025, the IGP said the Police Management Board had decided to promote three chief inspectors to the Police Academy, three inspectors to Chief Inspectors, two sergeants to Inspectors, one corporal to sergeant, and three constables to lance corporals.
He indicated that the Police Council was reviewing the promotion of senior officers.
“To the senior officers, the Police Council will make a decision on them.”
The promotion an operation dismantling an armed robbery gang which attacked financial institutions in the Ahafo, Western, Central, Eastern and Ashanti regions.
