I Would Give Everything For Ghana- Otto Addo
Head Coach Otto Addo says his ambition to represent Ghana as a player was cut short earlier than planned by a tear in his ACL.
However, he is willing to atone for the lost moments now in his new role.
According to him, he would give everything for the West African Country.
“The second thing is, I stopped playing football after I tore my ACL. Even one time when I played for Ghana and then afterwards, I couldn’t play, my knee is gone so I would give everything for the country,” he told journalists on Monday after he lost 2-1 to Niger in the last qualifying game in the 2025 AFCON.
The former attacking midfielder retired from his playing career in 2008, a year after joining Hamburger SV.
He was 33 at the time.
Addo got a C licence at 37 and set out to work in Hamburger as the under 19 coach. He first worked as an assistant Coach before earning the head coach five years later.
He later went to Denmark first division as an assistant coach for one and a half years as an assistant coach before going back to Germany to work as an assistant coach and talent manager at Borussia Monchengladbach.
He got a B licence later and then an A licence before a UEFA Pro licence.
