I Will Attend Upcoming Rapperholic Concert- Asantehene
The King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has expressed a special interest in this year’s Rapperholic Concert by Sarkodie.
The annual event will this year be held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on September 27, the rapper born Michael Owusu Addo informed His Majesty at the Manhyia Palace on July 18, 2025.
“It’s been 12 years since I released a song called Rapperholic and it performed very well. It was well received by my fans so I institutionalised it as an annual celebration.”
He said it will be the second time hosting it in Kumasi and sought the blessings of the King for its success.
“Three years after the celebration was established, it was held in Kumasi. I want to hold it once more in Kumasi this year. We are here for the blessings of Otumfuo before we announce it.”
The message was well pleasing to the Asantehene who announced plans to join and have a feel of it.
Otumfuo advised the artiste to stay humble and avoid unhealthy competition in the industry.
“I will keep you always in my prayers. The last time when he came, I told him to be humble and remain submissive and respectful. He must avoid all unhealthy competitions. He is already gifted…He must be wary and circumspect in your actions.”
To his management team, Otumfuo counselled against untoward attitude and violence.
“Don’t do anything untoward. Engage in ventures that will propel the artiste. When honour comes, you will have your share.”
