I Will Always Choose Asanteman Over NPP- Justin Kodua Frimpong
The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has asserted that he will not trade Asanteman for anything under any circumstances.
He is prepared to defend and protect the Golden Stool and the occupant of it under all circumstances and will not countenance any attempt by his party folks to cast a shadow on chieftaincy and Asanteman traditional authority.
“I will choose Asante over NPP at any time.”
He affirmed this when he appeared before the Kumasi Traditional Council on January 22, 2024, over alleged disrespect by the Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi.
He was accompanied by the National Organiser of the party, Henry Nana Boakye, Deputy National Communication Director, Owusu Bempah and Regional and Constituency executives of the party.
The leadership of the NPP was expected to bring the Ashanti Regional Chairman before the Council; however, they failed with the excuse that he had been admitted to a hospital for medical attention.
The party was therefore charged to bring him on Monday, January 29, 2024, together with the management of Wontumi TV and a programme host of the media house, Maurice Ampaw on Monday, January 29, 2024.
Giving a hint on how they intend to compel Wontumi into the presence of the traditional authorities, Mr Kodua Frimpong said, “We will tell him to come here next Monday and we (NPP) will dissociate ourselves from any other excuse he will offer.”
