‘I Haven’t Received Any Call From Kotoko Management Yet’ – Paa Kwasi Fabin

Former Asante Kotoko gaffer, Samuel Paa Kwasi Fabin, has strongly been linked to the club’s vacant role as they are still on the lookout for a new head coach after Karim Zito’s resignation.

The experienced coach, who had two previous spells with the Porcupine Warriors in 2009-2010 and 2018-2019, also served as assistant coach at the club from 2002-2005, to two German coaches Ernst Middendorp and Hans-Dieter Schmidt.

However, speaking to an Opemsuo Radio representative, the experienced tactician denied the reports categorically stating he hasn’t received any call from the Kotoko management yet

“I have seen and heard reports like that but all I can say is I haven’t been contacted by the Kotoko management yet.”

Paa Kwesi Fabin boasts of a solid 30 years of coaching experience, having managed notable local clubs like Heart of Lions, Hearts of Oak, Berekum Arsenal, Inter Allies, Aduana FC etc.

He later became the head coach of Ghana U17 (Black Starlets) where he led them to a second-place finish at the 2017 U-17 AFCON and also secured qualification to the FIFA U-17 World which was held in India the same year.

He was later appointed by the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) as head coach of their male U17 and U20 team.

Despite his long career, the seasoned mentor has never lifted the Ghana Premier League title but won two GHALCA Top 4 Tournaments with Heart of Lions in 2009 and Accra Hearts of Oak in 2010, along with one SWAG Cup in 2009.
