I DID NOT CAST MY VOTE ON DEC 7, 2020 – Charlotte Osei
Former Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, Mrs. Charlotte Osei, has revealed she did not exercise her franchise during the 2020 General Election of Ghana.
In an interview on Joy News Super Morning Show, she noted that she was having fun with her children at a beach on 7th December, 2020 when votes were cast, through to 9th December when the result was declared by Madam Jean Mensah, the current EC boss.
Another overwhelming revelation from her was that she did not register for the current voter’s Identification Card.
She was taken aback when the host asked if she monitored the events and asked, “Why should I? I was not paid to monitor the elections. So I had time with my children at the beach? “
Mrs. Osei indicated she is not a public official any longer. “I am a private individual; I can do what I want within the limits of the law”,
She made it clear that she does not regret anything she did during her tenure as the EC Boss.
