Hearts Leave Relegation Zone After 3-1 Triumph

Accra Hearts of Oak have given up their space in the relegation zone on the premier league table after thumping Champions Medeama Sporting Club by three first-half goals at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.

An own goal by goalkeeper Appiah Kubi in the 6th minute stemming from a corner, gave the hosts the lead.

It was followed by a brace by Hamza Issah. The yellow and mauves managed to pull one back but their efforts to reduce the deficit any further couldn’t produce.

The second win of the Phobians this season has pushed them out of the relegation zone where it was comfortably seated for weeks to the 13th place on the league table.

Their first win was recorded in match week two against Nsoatreman FC.

In other games on Wednesday, the Bofoakwa Tano registered their first defeat of the season against Aduana Stars. The game ended with a 4:2 scoreline while Nations FC thrashed Real Tamale United by 4:0 at the Dr. Kwame Kyei stadium.

Dreams FC lost by 2 goals to visiting Berekum Cities with Great Olympics securing a point from their 2:1 defeat to Bechem United at home.

Karela United drew by 1:1 with Bibiani GoldStars while Samartex FC 1996 battered Legon Cities by 3-0.
