Hearts Adopt Legon Sports Stadium as Interim Home Ground

Accra Hearts of Oak have adopted the Legon Sports Stadium as their new home ground.

This follows the closure of the Accra Sports Stadium, their traditional home ground in the Greater Accra Region after it hosted a CAF Champions League game between FC Sarmatex and Casablanca on Sunday, September 15.

“The management of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club PC is by this statement notifying all of our stakeholders and the general public that we have adopted the Legon Sports Stadium as our temporal home venue due to the closure of the Accra Sports Stadium,” the Management of the club said in a press statement.

The statement further noted that it would remain their home ground until the Accra Sports Stadium or any of their alternative venues is ready for use.

The first fixture for Hearts that will be hosted at the new sports facility at the University of Ghana will be against Bechem United.

The Management of the club has urged fans to patronize the new venue to throw their support to the team as it goes into what has been described as a crucial game.

“As we go into this weekend’s encounter, we use this opportunity to urge all Phobians to continue to offer their support to the team so collectively our efforts would yield the desired success.”

The football fraternity will be keenly monitoring to find what Hearts can produce after losing their first two games in the 2024-25 season.

They are currently languishing within the relegation zone.
