Health Minister Orders Audit of Oti Regional Health Facilities

The Minister for Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has ordered a comprehensive audit of all health facilities in the Oti Region.

The audit will be undertaken by a technical working group yet to be constituted by the Technical Advisor to the Ministry, Dr. Korku Awoonor.

The audit will focus on assessing the structural integrity, operational capacity, and overall productivity of these facilities, with a view of strengthening service delivery and safeguarding patient safety.

The directive was issued during the Ministry of Health’s two-day management retreat and forms part of Government’s broader agenda to improve oversight of health infrastructure and ensure that public health facilities across the country consistently meet approved safety, quality, and performance standards.

As part of complementary measures to enhance the quality of care and patient experience, the Health Minister has also ordered the introduction of 24-hour cleaning services in all public hospitals nationwide.

This intervention is aimed at improving hygiene standards, strengthening infection prevention and control, and creating safer, more patient-friendly healthcare environments.

Together, these initiatives are part of Ministry’s commitment to raising standards across the health sector through proactive supervision, improved facility management, and sustained investments in quality healthcare delivery.
